Calvin and Dan

Thank you so much for taking the time to look through our profile. We know that you have a lot to think about and consider as you decide if an adoption plan is right for you and your baby. We’re glad that you’ve decided to spend some time learning about us, and we hope that we might get the chance to know you, too. We also hope you come to a decision for your child that fills you with peace, whether that plan includes us or not. If you do choose to include us, one thing we really want you to know is that your child will grow up knowing how much love and courage your decision took.

Dan and Calvin
The day we made our vows.

We’ve been talking about being parents since the very beginning of our lives together, and we’re very grateful and happy to be in a place now where we’re ready to add our first child to our family. (In time we hope to have more than one.) We’re sure you’re very curious about the home where your baby would be raised, and there’s a lot we’d like to tell you about ourselves.

We’ve been together for five years. We met at a church service, which makes sense, because our faith is very important to both of us. Dan was living in New York City at the time, and Calvin was living in southern Maine. After a year spent traveling from place to place to be together, we spent a year together in New York, and moved to Maine three years ago after deciding to spend the rest of our lives together.

Joan is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church. She and Calvin developed a close relationship when she was his advisor in graduate school and become his godmother not long after.

Joe and Amy are like family to us. Calvin has known them for many years and now we consider them to be two of our best friends. We are godparents to their son, Day.

Stephanie is like a sister to us. She is a companion in good times and bad. She’ll be a great aunt and a wonderful godmother to our child and already spends many family holidays with us.

houseOur Home

MaxWe have a house in a beautiful, fun and colorful town, with a big back yard and lots of woods, lakes and mountains nearby. We love to spend time in our garden, and so does our dog, Max.

GalenGalen, our cat, would love to sneak outside, but we promised the shelter we’d keep him indoors when he came to live with us.
