Rae-Ann and David

Ursa

Ursa is our 16 month old Belgian Shepherd mix dog. She loves adventure fun and being around people. She is a goofball and keeps us all entertained with her antics. She has been around children since she was a wee puppy and is very patient and calm with them.

Our Lives Together

We met at a triathlon that David was competing in. We are both very active and enjoy doing many outdoor activities together. We also support each other in following our individual interests. Rae-Ann likes to go horseback riding and pursues crafts like knitting, sewing and sculpting; while David enjoys playing hockey and flying. We both have a strong work ethic; Rae-Ann tutors students in our home and works on a local farm, and David works at the marine transportation company he started 14 years ago.

We place an emphasis on making time to be with our families. Rae-Ann’s parents have a camp on the ocean that we spend as much time at as possible during the summer, while David’s parents live on a tree-farm on the shore of a local lake that we enjoy visiting on a weekly basis. We both remain close with all of our siblings, and enjoy getting together with them and their children as often as possible.

We also love to travel. Every other year we head to Florida where David’s parents have a time share. Recently Rae-Ann traveled to France and David and Rae-Ann enjoyed some time in the Dominican Republic.

Our Home

We live in a small coastal town in New England. It is a very rural setting. Our home is an old renovated farmhouse with an attached barn.

We live in a very beautiful and quiet area. There are endless opportunities to explore with kids right out our back door. We have access to hundreds of acres of field and forest trails, where there is an abundance of wildlife. There are numerous lakes, brooks and ponds, as well as the ocean close by as well.

We live just a short drive from Rae-Ann’s family’s camp and David’s family’s farm on a lake.

Our families live close enough that we can visit them on short notice and rely on their support when child care needs arise.

We have fabulous friends in the area who are all very excited to help us welcome a child.
